How it works:
Using a ruler foot on your machine, you use the template within the base as your guide to create shapes. The base and templates fit together in an octagon, so the template is turned to create symmetrical designs. You can also combine shapes to create flowers and borders. The handles on the base help you to control your movement and the small shapes make it easy to learn how to control your stitch length.
This large size is meant to fit machine throats 9" or larger, the regular Spiro-Quilt, (found here) fits less than 9" throats.
Low shank templates are 3/16th of an inch thick, slightly thicker than 1/8" but not as thick as 1/4". For high shank machines, use the 1/4" templates.
Included:
1. Base (.18" thick x 11" x 11") (high shank is .25" thick)
2. Double Petal Template (.18" x 8" x 8") (high shank is .25" thick)
3. Double Circle Template (.18" x 8" x 8") (high shank is .25" thick)
4. Double Wide Petal Template(.18" x 8" x 8") (high shank is .25" thick)
Finished designs are approximately 7.5"

I’ve tried other free motion quilting techniques, with ok results. I was intrigued by the Spiro-quilt system. I am so happy with it. It is easy to set up and to use with very good results. It’s taken my skills to the next level.
