Hello.

I’m Allison Kelley and quilting rescued me when I was lost.

At 43, I was laid off from my job.  After 6 rounds of IVF we welcomed our baby girl, but after losing my aunt and almost losing my best friend all within a few months of her birth, the final straw was being laid off from a company I had grown at for fifteen years two weeks after returning from maternity leave.

I went into a depression.  With help from a therapist and rediscovering my love of quilting, I began to heal.  Quilting brought me back to gratitude, to the present and allowed me to reconnect with myself and what I truly valued.  Luckily, I found a quilting business for sale and purchased Sewing by Sarah in 2019.

My mother taught me to quilt at 14 and I loved fabric so much I graduated from University of Delaware with a Textiles degree. Whether I’m creating a quilt, or inventing new products for our shop, the magic of creation brings joy and wellness to my life.
